Rothem Korean School, established on June 18, 1999, is supported by Rothem Presbyterian Church and is operated with the support of the Overseas Korean Foundation of the U.S. Embassy

 

Rothem Presbyterian Church was established in October 1994, it joined the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) on June 18, 1995. It is a fervent church devoted to worship, the Word, prayer, and praise located in Northern Virginia.

In the cultural center of the 21st century world, the status of K-pop and Hallyu culture is on the rise. The goal of Rothem Korean School is to instill a sense of Korean identity in the second generation and, through cultural education, to raise them as spiritually healthy and proud Korean-American leaders.

2. classes are conducted using Korean Ministry of Education and the International Korean Language Foundation-issued Korean textbooks.

3. Experience Korean traditional and modern culture.

4. Fun cooking activities that engages all the senses.

5. Available for learning in all parts of the United States.

6. Making learning exciting by giving students Talents that they can collect to redeem gifts on Amazon

Rothem Talent Market is a rewards method to keep students excited about learning Korean.


Students receive Talents as they correctly answer questions and engage in class. Talents can be exchanged for gifts on Amazon at the end of the semester.

Students receive ~10-15 talents a class which is approximately 120-180 Talents a semester, which is $12-18. Each Talent is $.1.


Top three students of each class as well as students with strong attendance also receives 20-40 talents at the end of the semester.

Two semesters: $200

Single semester (15 weeks minus holidays): $120

Additional siblings: $10 discount per semester

Every Sunday at 4 PM Eastern time. Both the Spring and Fall semesters run for 15 weeks each minus holidays.


Fall 2024 will run from 9/8 – 12/15 for a total of 12 classes.

10/13, 11/10, 12/1 are holiday breaks.

Every semester, we open a class chat group and a email list to post weekly class materials. Please check and assist your children with their class preparation before the lesson.

 

Students should have basic necessities such as: white board and marker, tape, colored pencils, markers, and a working video camera and microphone
